Before the age of 15, I refused to paint. I wasn’t fond of working with paint and quite frankly after my first attempt with the medium I realized I wasn’t very good at it. I made every and any attempt to avoid this medium being that my comfort lied within the realm of pencil and ink. After failing miserably twice at painting, I decided that there wasn’t going to be third failure. “Medusa” was my third attempt at paint, and my first success at it. A lesson learned that, to this day, has a direct affect on my work. I’ve fail at a single piece several times. It’s because of this piece, I know that if I quit great things won’t happen.
